Okay...
at this point I obviously decided that havinging the gerbils rampage
around with hand-to-hand measures was going to take too long and
involve me actually drawing something. As such I began looking
for ways that the Laudus to fire some sort of cannon... and the giant
jewels seemed a likely option. The beams ended up being
influenced by the types of things you'd seen in older cartoons and
comics. Despite my love of 80's style blasting effects I can
never draw them when I need to, so I tend to use the styles from the
70's, it seems.
